About The Role
The role owns the close, compliance, and reporting engine of a fast-growing technology company: US GAAP technical accounting, SOX controls, and SEC-ready financial reporting.
You will lead a small team of accountants, drive a tight month-end close, and partner with FP&A, tax, and legal to ensure financials are accurate, auditable, and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the month-end and year-end close in NetSuite, ensuring reconciliations, journal entries, and flux analyses are completed within a 5-day close
- Prepare and review financial statements and footnotes in accordance with US GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 842 leases, and stock-based compensation under ASC 718
- Maintain and test SOX 404 internal controls, documenting key control narratives and remediating deficiencies ahead of annual audits
- Manage the annual financial statement audit and interim reviews with external auditors, coordinating PBC requests and resolving open items
- Oversee revenue accounting for subscription and usage-based contracts, evaluating contract modifications, multi-element arrangements, and deferred revenue treatment
- Supervise and develop a team of 2-3 staff and senior accountants, reviewing work and building close automation in NetSuite and FloQast
- Partner with FP&A, engineering, and legal on new product launches, revenue models, and accounting policy decisions
What We Are Looking For
- 5-8 years of combined public accounting and industry experience, ideally Big 4 audit plus SaaS or technology companies
- CPA (active or inactive) with deep US GAAP knowledge, including ASC 606 and ASC 350/820
- Hands-on SOX experience: designing, documenting, and testing internal controls over financial reporting
- Advanced NetSuite (or comparable ERP) skills; experience implementing close tools like FloQast or BlackLine a plus
- Experience managing external audits and preparing SEC reporting support (10-K/10-Q workpapers) is strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; strong Excel and data-analysis skills
- Bonus: SEC reporting experience, NetSuite implementation exposure, or familiarity with R&D capitalization under ASC 730
