Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager in Pleasanton, CA to lead daily accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. The role oversees general ledger, month-end closes, and compliance with GAAP, while supporting budgets and audits.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience with leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, and reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our accounting operations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This role is responsible for managing the month-end close process, overseeing general ledger activities, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors.
  • Monitor internal controls and identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Oversee cash flow management and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Partner with Finance and business leaders on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
