Job summary

Knmresources is seeking an experienced asset accounting professional to oversee fixed asset accounting, capitalization, depreciation, and retirements. You will partner with operating groups to classify costs and ensure accurate financial reporting for our multi-billion-dollar asset base.

The role requires a BS in accounting, CPA preferred, and 7–10 years of accounting, controls, and supervisory experience, with SAP FI/CO experience a plus. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the integrity and quality of all aspects of the fixed asset accounting function.
• Ensure all property additions and retirements are accurately and timely recorded.
• Develop and oversee the application of accounting methods, policies and procedures for managing assets.
• Partner with operating groups to determine class of costs between capital and O&M and validate appropriate accounting.
• Evaluate capitalization, depreciation, retirement and related policies and practices.
• Monitor effectiveness of policies and procedures to accomplish objectives.
• Monitor internal controls over the accounting process.
• Partner with other business units to ensure proper accounting of business transactions including project setup processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the integrity and quality of all aspects of the fixed asset accounting function
• Ensure all property additions and retirements are accurately and timely recorded
• Develop and oversee the application of accounting methods, policies and procedures as they relate to managing $6 billion of assets, including review and evaluation for reasonableness of depreciable lives, salvage and impairment
• Partner with operating groups to determine class of costs between capital and O&M and validate the appropriate accounting
• Evaluate capitalization, depreciation, retirement and other related accounting policies and practices
• Monitor the effectiveness of policies and procedures to accomplish objectives
• Monitor effective design and operation of internal controls over the accounting process
• Partner with other business units to ensure proper accounting of business transactions including project "set up" processes

Qualifications:

• BS Degree in Accounting
• CPA
• Seven to ten years of well-developed accounting, controls and supervisory experience
• Excellent ability to relate to accounting, asset management reporting and information systems
• Strong financial and business background
• SAP experience (FI and CO modules) a plus
