About the Role

Our client, a fast-growing startup specializing in the development of computer programs using artificial intelligence, is looking for an Accounting Manager eager to take ownership of financial operations and reporting. This high-impact role offers opportunities for growth, shaping financial practices, and contributing to strategic decisions.

You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, maintaining smooth financial operations, and supporting company-wide initiatives. The role involves working closely with leadership and cross-functional teams as a key financial partner.

What You'll Do

1. Oversee all aspects of financial data management, including revenue recognition, COGS, OpEx, and balance sheet accounts
2. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and support audit requirements
3. Manage financial systems such as NetSuite, Ramp, Gusto, and Payfit
4. Handle complex financial transactions, including stock-based compensation, transfer pricing, and shareholder loans
5. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and produce reports for leadership and stakeholders
6. Monitor statutory and regulatory compliance requirements
7. Perform recurring financial analyses (variance analysis, account reconciliations)
8. Partner with People Operations to analyze payroll and compensation costs
9. Execute daily financial operations (bill payments, payroll, cash monitoring)
10. Support budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A initiatives as needed

Required Qualifications

• Prior experience in audit with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• CPA strongly preferred
• 5-10 years of experience in audit and/or corporate finance roles
• Advanced experience with NetSuite and managing financial systems
• Based in CST or EST time zones
• Strong collaboration skills with external partners
• Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and accurate
• Proactive, self-starter mindset with troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communicator for non-financial audiences
• Team player who takes initiative and collaborates effectively
• Passion for continuous learning

• Experience in tech, software, or infrastructure industries
