Title: Accounting Manager

Salary: $150,000 - $200,000/annually

Location: New York City (Remote)

About the role: We're partnering with a fast-growing start-up that builds AI software. We are seeking an Accounting Manager who enjoys working across systems and teams, and is excited to take full ownership of the accounting operations. This role is central to ensuring the integrity of financial data, supporting strategic initiatives, and maintaining compliance. Candidates with a CPA, public accounting background, and industry exposure (technology, SaaS, AI, etc.) are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Take full responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of financial records, including revenue recognition, cost tracking, operating expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Collaborate with external partners such as accountants, auditors, and tax consultants to ensure smooth operations and compliance.
• Oversee and optimize financial tools and platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Ramp, Gusto).
• Manage complex financial matters like equity compensation, intercompany pricing, and shareholder financing.
• Lead the month-end close process and contribute to financial reporting.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory obligations are met.
• Conduct financial reviews, variance analysis, and account reconciliations.
• Handle daily financial operations including vendor payments, payroll, and cash flow management.
• Provide analytical support for planning, forecasting, and strategic decisions.

Requirements:

• CPA certification, with a background in audit and strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and proficiency in its use.
• 5-10 years of experience in accounting or audit roles, preferably with exposure to both.
• Ability to build strong relationships with external stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to accuracy.
• Self-driven, resourceful, and problem-solving aptitude.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex financial topics.
• Collaborative, able to work independently and as part of a team.
