About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a growing organization to identify an AccountingManager who can step into a highly visible, hands-on role supporting month-end close, reporting, and a small international accounting team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is readyfortheirfirstornextAccountingManagerrole and enjoys balancing technical accounting, process ownership, team coordination, and operational problem-solving.
This role is especially well suited for a candidate who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, working in an Excel-heavyenvironment, and leading from the front by preparing and reviewing work directly.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and participate in the month-endcloseprocess
- Prepare and review monthlyclosereconciliations
- Oversee revenuereconciliations and support invoice review across active customer contracts
- Support percentage-of-completion(POC)accounting for fixed-fee contracts
- Partner with project teams in quarterly reviews to assess project progress and any required accounting updates
- Support foreigncurrencytranslation and manualconsolidations
- Oversee and develop a small offshore team, including teammates in IndiaandSingapore
- Help improve delegation of AP responsibilities and create stronger close support processes
- Prepare reporting that contributes to monthlybusinessreportsfortheboard
- Perform and review costallocations and other spreadsheet-based analyses
- Identify data discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy
- Look for opportunities to improve efficiency through AIandautomationtools
What We’re Looking For
- Prior experience in accounting with readiness to operate at the AccountingManager level
- Experience leading or supervising others, even if in a small-teamorearly-stagemanagement setting
- Strong ownership of month-endclose
- Willingness to be hands-on in the work, not just review output
- Strong Excelskills and comfort working in detailed, spreadsheet-driven reporting
- Experience with SageIntacct is helpful
- Exposure to foreigncurrencytranslation, consolidations, and contract/revenue accounting is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving ability
- A proactive, adaptable mindset with the ability to wear multiple hats
- Interest in using AItools to improve efficiency and automate manual processes
Nice to Have
- Experience supporting global or distributed teams
- Experience with board reporting or management reporting packages
- A data-oriented mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve inconsistencies
- Professional services experience is welcome, but notrequired
- CPA is notrequired
- Candidates in the Chicagoarea should expect a hybridschedule, generally 2daysperweekinoffice
- Remote candidates can be considered, with EastCoasthourspreferred
- The role includes some collaboration outside standard business hours to support global teammates:
- Morning meetings with India
- Occasional evening meetings with Singapore
