LBX Company in Lexington, KY seeks an Accounting Manager to lead the financial reporting and close processes. You will supervise staff, maintain GAAP-compliant controls, coordinate audits, and ensure accurate consolidated financial results. Qualifications

  • Experience with managing external audits.
  • Experience in inventory and cost accounting preferred.
  • Experience with consolidation, elimination, and foreign currency entries strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close processes and coordinate year-end audit activities.
  • Ensure J-SOX compliance and internal controls are properly documented and tested.
  • Oversee accounting system setup to capture accurate financial data and consolidated results.
  • Direct staff development and ensure procedures align with GAAP and company values.
  • Provide accurate financial reporting and analyses to business leaders and SCMA consolidated level.
  • Maintain and update department policies and ensure compliance across the organization.
  • Support cross-functional understanding of financial impacts and drive corrective actions as needed.

Position Summary:Manages completion of the financial records of the company, ensuring they are maintained in a complete and accurate manner consistent with generally accepted accounting principles. Responsible for managing and directing the financial reporting and accounting system function. Primary responsibilities include supervising and leading the month end close process, year-end audit activities, J-Sox Compliance, ensure proper set up of accounting system to capture accurate financial data, and reporting of consolidated financial results.In addition, this position is responsible for supervision and development of its staff, ensuring that the procedures being followed are consistent with generally accepted accounting principles and with the values of the company.Financial Reporting, Accuracy & Compliance (30%)Provide accurate and complete financial results and analyses to business leaders.Report quarterly financial results at SCMA consolidated level to business leaders.Ensure department Policies & Procedures are updated, communicated, and followed.Maintain and ensure compliance to JSOX controls.Ensure financial transactions, reviews and reconciliations are performed timely, accurately, and completely.Ensure all financial obligations are paid timely and accurately. Also ensure that adequate controls are maintained for all payments.Ensure accuracy of financial presentation of company assets.Manage all financial audits and ensure all findings are properly resolved with corrective actions.Ensure other departments within the company understand the financial impacts of their activities to achieve company objectives.Provide orientation for all LBX new hires (when applicable) so that they understand how they affect financial results.Provide cross-functional employee policy education.Accounting Systems Management (20%)Maintain and manage all accounting systems ensuring structure enables correct process flow, GL posting, and enables reporting that is consistent with company objectives.Manage travel and expense system ensuring structure & procedures result in accurate financial posting within accounting system.Manage invoice processing system ensuring structure & procedures result in CALM and JSOX control compliance, and accurate financial posting within accounting system.Provide cross functional support to other departments to ensure operational transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting system.Banking, Tax, Business Registrations, and Insurance (20%)Ensure tax and registration filings are performed timely and accurately.Serve as main contact on requests from outside parties for financial information.Manage banking relationships and banking covenants compliance.Communicate certificates of insurance to drivers and as needed.Provide information needed for insurance audits as needed.Department Management & Development/Training (20%)Create and implement development plans for all employees in the department to promote better performance in their current job, staff motivation, build a better LBX team player who supports company values, and to prepare for future career growth.Work strategically by aligning department goals and initiatives with company goals and initiatives.Organize department to allow for most efficient use of skills and separation of duties per JSOX controls.Miscellaneous Tasks (10%)Perform special studies as requested.Perform other job related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong written and verbal communication skills.
