Overview

Accounting Manager role at Liquidity Services. The role supports the Director, Finance and includes leading components of the month/quarter/year-end financial close procedures, monthly account reconciliations, audits, financial reporting, and other daily operations. This position will contribute to growing the GovDeals segment’s full-service sales business.

Base pay range

$100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, settlements, revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and intercompany transactions.
• Drives the monthly close process and the preparation of financial reporting deliverables according to schedule, including reviewing and approving journal entries, closing documents, reconciliations and performing financial statement reviews.
• Supports President and FP&A with budgeting, financial planning and analysis, quarterly updates to financial forecasts, trends, and ad hoc analysis; monitors monthly operating results against budget and forecast and prepares for management reviews.
• Ensures accuracy of financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
• Maintains and monitors a strong internal control environment, structure and processes, including writing and enforcing controls and policies as assigned.
• Assists in documentation and monitoring of SOX requirements; supports internal/external auditors in quarterly reviews, annual audits and SOX testing.
• Researches and resolves complex accounting situations, one-offs and exceptions.
• Has a leadership role in team meetings, including preparation of meeting agendas.
• Adheres to all weekly and monthly accounting deadlines.
• Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supervise 4 members of the accounting team and provide training and supervision as necessary.
• Ensure properly trained backups are available for key roles and duties.
• Coach and mentor members of the accounting team, conduct performance evaluations, and track goals for direct reports.
• Maintain a succession plan for key positions.

Job Specifications

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required, preferably in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of accrual basis accounting experience required
• 3+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience with large-scale ERP systems, Oracle preferred
• Public accounting experience and/or a CPA license a plus

Work Conditions

Remote work acceptable; ideal candidate must have a home office space and access to high-speed internet. The ability to sit and perform terminal/computer work for lengthy periods is expected. Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds. Must be comfortable working MST and PST hours.
