Job summary

Archpoint owns and manages its own properties, delivering a hands-on accounting leadership role at Lake Bluff with hybrid flexibility for remote and in-office work. You’ll guide the financial backbone for a growing portfolio of nine properties and roughly 250 units, shaping systems, controls, and reporting in a startup environment.

You will own end-to-end accounting and collaborate with a small team, driving process improvement, with opportunities to scale as Archpoint expands and our portfolio

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 5–10 years of full-cycle accounting experience.
• Real estate/property management accounting knowledge.
• Experience with systems implementation in property management.
• Ability to succeed in a start-up environment.
• Strong communication skills with management.
• Familiarity with Buildium and/or Yardi is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial transactions for multiple properties and post to the general ledger.
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statement packages for management and ownership.
• Assist in monthly financial statement analysis and annual budget preparation.
• Supervise remote staff accountant handling AP in Buildium/Yardi and ensure proper postings.
• Record bank transactions in Buildium/Yardi and set up vendors with W-9s and COIs.
• Coordinate with outside tax firm on income tax returns and 1099 forms.
• Lead software system design and documentation as we scale.
• Establish internal controls and provide accounting guidance to management.

Location: Hybrid - Remote & In-Office at Lake Bluff Headquarters Job Type: Full Time Department: Accounting & Finance Salary Range: $75,000–$80,000 Being an Accounting Manager at Archpoint Means… You'll be the dedicated accounting leader building out the financial backbone of a growing real estate company - currently responsible for 9 properties and roughly 250 units, with more on the way. This is a rare opportunity to join a small, five-person team where your fingerprints will be on everything: the systems, the processes, the controls. You're a self-starter with 5-10 years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally in property management, who thrives in a start-up environment and wants to build a strong accounting and reporting function from the ground up in accordance with US GAAP.

I'm Responsible For…

• Oversight of financial transactions for multiple residential and commercial properties, ensuring accurate and complete posting of transactions in the general ledger
• Performing monthly bank and credit card account reconciliations
• Preparing monthly financial statement packages for management and ownership
• Assisting in monthly financial statement analysis and annual budget preparation
• Overseeing a remote staff accountant processing accounts payable invoices in Buildium/Yardi, ensuring proper posting to the appropriate entity and expense accounts
• Accurately recording bank transactions in Buildium/Yardi
• Setting up new vendors in the accounting software and collecting W9s and Certificates of Insurance
• Coordinating with our outside tax accounting firm on income tax returns
• Preparing 1099-INT and 1099-NEC forms
• Leading software system design and implementation, and documenting processes and procedures as we scale
• Establishing internal controls for the organization
• Communicating in a professional manner and providing accounting guidance and recommendations to management

I'm Qualified Because I Have…

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 5–10 years of full-cycle accounting experience
• Working knowledge of tax matters relevant to real estate/property management
• Experience with systems implementation, ideally in a property management setting
• The ability to succeed in a start-up environment and a genuine desire to build and maintain a strong accounting function
• Strong communication skills and comfort advising management directly
• Familiarity with Buildium and/or Yardi is a plus but not required
