Lawn Management Company (LMC) in Houston seeks an Accounting Manager to lead our accounting team and partner with operations to strengthen financial performance. You’ll report to the Director of Accounting, own the close process, and drive accurate reporting while guiding a growing organization.

This hands-on leadership role requires 5+ years of accounting experience, strong GL and controls, and an ability to mentor staff. Travel to branch locations may be required.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years progressive accounting experience in a multi-location, service-based environment.
• Experience leading or supervising accounting teams and developing others.
• Strong general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliations and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Willingness to travel to Houston area branches and pass background/drug screening.

The Opportunity

As our Accounting Manager, you’ll play a key role in keeping our Houston operations financially strong and running smoothly. Reporting to the Director of Accounting, you’ll oversee day-to-day accounting activities, lead and develop team members, support financial reporting, and partner closely with operational leaders to help drive business performance.

This isn’t a role where you’ll simply review reports from behind a desk. You’ll be a hands-on leader and trusted business partner, helping improve processes, strengthen financial controls, and support a growing organization.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the day-to-day: Oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, accruals, and month-end close.
• Own the numbers: Prepare and review financial statements, reporting packages, and variance analyses to ensure accuracy and timely reporting.
• Partner with operations: Work closely with branch and operational leadership to provide financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting, and improve visibility into business performance.
• Develop your team: Supervise, coach, and support accounting staff while building accountability and encouraging professional growth.
• Improve how we work: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and create more efficient accounting workflows.
• Support compliance: Maintain accounting policies and controls while assisting with audits, tax-related activities, fixed assets, and other compliance requirements.
• Adapt and problem-solve: Take ownership of challenges, manage competing priorities, and help the team navigate the needs of a growing business.

What You’ll Bring To The Team

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-location, service-based, or operationally focused business.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience with a passion for developing others.
• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
• Ability to prioritize, make decisions, and deliver results in a deadline-driven environment.
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in wherever needed.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both accounting and operational teams.
• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Ability to travel to branch locations throughout the Houston market.
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
