Job summary

Strativ Group in Torrance, CA is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the accounting function in a hands-on role. You will work closely with the CFO and cross‑functional teams in a fast-growing aerospace and defense company.

The role focuses on monthly close, cost accounting, governance around FAR/DFARS and DCAA, and scaling internal controls. Strong GAAP knowledge and ERP experience are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • 2+ years in a management or lead capacity.
  • Experience with FAR/DFARS, DCAA, indirect rates and government contracting.
  • Strong manufacturing cost accounting experience, including standard costing and inventory.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting.
  • Experience with an ERP such as NetSuite, QuickBooks or similar.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • A hands-on, builder mindset and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • High level of autonomy and ownership.
  • Lean team focused on impact.
  • Well-funded and already generating revenue.

  • Based in Torrance, CA, with a move to a new facility in Hawthorne, CA planned.

Responsibilities

  • Own the monthly close, reconciliations and GAAP financial reporting.
  • Build and maintain cost accounting processes, including standard costing, variance analysis and inventory valuation.
  • Manage accounting requirements around FAR/DFARS, DCAA and government contracts.
  • Oversee AP/AR and cash flow.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Develop internal controls and accounting processes as the company scales.
  • Work with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Improve accounting systems, processes and workflows.

Accounting Manager | Aerospace & Defense | Torrance, CA

We’re building next-generation motion technologies for the Industrial, Aerospace and Defense sectors, and we’re looking for an Accounting Manager to help build the financial infrastructure behind it.

This is a hands‑on role with real ownership. You’ll take responsibility for the accounting function while working closely with the CFO, engineering and operations teams in a fast-moving, well‑funded company that is already generating revenue.

What you’ll be doing:
