Job summary

Safariland in Golden, CO is seeking an experienced Accountant/Accounting Manager responsible for General Ledger month-end closing, corporate accounting, and regulatory reporting. You will ensure accuracy of records, adherence to GAAP, and strengthen internal controls.

The role leads month-end close, prepares financial statements, supports audits, and mentors staff while simplifying processes to drive efficiency and accurate financial results for the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 8+ years of related experience (Project based accounting experience considered an asset).
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills; working with large datasets from multiple systems.
• Strong analytical background; results driven.
• Strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex, fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
• Well-developed critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing all finance and accounting operations, including AR, GL accounting, and cost accounting.
• Coordinate, support, manage, and direct the preparation of month-end closing activities to ensure financials are submitted to corporate in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and report variances
• Knowledge in percentage of completion revenue recognition
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
• Support month-end and year-end close process
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Manage the company’s financial reporting system, generate monthly financial statements and ensure the integrity of the balance sheet
• Provide support for the annual audit
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance
• Manage, mentor, and train employees
