Job summary

Movement Search and Delivery is partnering with a leading Detroit manufacturing organization to identify an Accounting Manager for overseeing corporate accounting, consolidations, financial reporting, and complex technical matters.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with Big Four or large public accounting experience who has transitioned into industry and brings strong expertise in U.S. GAAP and complex transactions to drive accurate reporting and strong controls.

Qualifications

• CPA required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Big Four or large public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and technical accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close and consolidation processes.
• Oversee multi-entity consolidations, intercompany accounting, and eliminations.
• Research and resolve complex technical accounting issues under U.S. GAAP.
• Prepare and review technical accounting memos and accounting positions.
• Evaluate complex transactions, including acquisitions, revenue recognition, leases, investments, and other non-routine matters.
• Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Partner with external auditors and support audit activities.
• Develop and improve accounting policies, controls, and processes.
• Lead and develop accounting team members.
• Partner with senior finance leadership on special projects and complex accounting matters.

What You Need To Succeed:
