JOB DESCRIPTION

If you are someone who knows the value of documentation when it comes to approval processes and budget spends, then this Business Manager position might be the position for you! The Business Manager duties are governed by Company 'best practices' and Federal compliance procedures.


While no day is the same, a day in the life of a Business Manager might look like this:

  1. Assist leadership with routine financial reporting
  2. Complete general accounting functions for the location/station
  3. Serve as the subject matter expert and resource for accounting matters such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Company 'best practices,' and GAAP reporting guidelines
  4. Support Human Resources in matters related to the Accounting department, including recruitment, hiring, employee relations, benefits & leave administration, personnel records, and related Company 'best practices'
  5. Process and occasionally troubleshoot the team's biweekly payroll
  6. Advise and strategize with team leaders to ensure budget compliance
  7. Provide support to the regional controller as needed

Preferred background and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, Business, or related field
  • Experience with payroll and General Ledger duties
  • Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, functions, conditional formatting, pivot tables/charts, formulas, and familiarity with VBA & Macros
  • Experience collaborating across departments on projects
  • Experience in accounting, payroll, personnel, and employment matters
  • Understanding of confidentiality in financial and HR matters
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP
  • Experience in the broadcast industry is a plus

The salary range for this role is $75,400 to $95,400, determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location.
