Job description

The Accounting Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions. This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Accounting Manager to develop into a Controller position by managing the collection and consolidation of all financial data necessary for accurate reporting of consolidated business results. The Accounting Manager will oversee the preparation of internal and external financial statements and supervise a small offshore team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end close process
• Review and book journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, and amortization
• Ensure smooth operation of accounting processes such as A/R, A/P, Payroll, and GAAP compliance, while improving processes for efficiency
• Maintain and enforce accounting policies and procedures
• Manage the chart of accounts
• Research and resolve complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with ASC standards including ASC 842, 606, 710, 740, 730, 718, 350, and 360
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax, and valuation firms to manage technical accounting issues and deliverables
• Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting, collaborating with the CFO
• Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and tax filings at local, state, and federal levels
• Conduct monthly meetings with leadership to strategize and improve financial forecasting

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 7+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in SaaS industry and start-up environments

Preferred Skills:

• Understanding organizational hierarchy, roles, and compensation practices
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• CPA certification preferred
