The ideal candidate has a strong Big 4 foundation, CPA certification, and biotech industry experience, with expertise in SEC reporting, stock-based compensation, and audit management.

Qualifications

• Active CPA certification.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with SEC reporting.
• Experience leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Stock-based compensation accounting experience (ASC 718).
• Experience partnering with internal and external auditors.
• Strong balance sheet reconciliation and financial statement analysis experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
• Review and prepare complex journal entries and reconciliations.
• Own key balance sheet reconciliations and income statement reviews.
• Perform monthly flux and variance analyses.
• Explain financial results and significant business drivers to leadership.
• Support SEC reporting and public company accounting requirements.
• Manage stock-based compensation accounting activities.
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Clinical Operations, and outside service providers.
• Identify accounting process improvements and scalability opportunities.
• Strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Support ongoing accounting infrastructure and operational initiatives.

This individual will serve as a key contributor to the accounting function, leading the close process, managing complex accounting areas, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with public company reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong Big 4 foundation, CPA certification, and biotechnology industry experience, along with expertise in SEC reporting, stock-based compensation, and audit management. This is a highly visible opportunity to help scale accounting operations within a growing public company while partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Clinical Operations, Legal, and executive leadership.

Must-Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Active CPA certification
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry experience
• Public company accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with SEC reporting requirements
