Job summary

The Home is actively seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of a community banking accounting department and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and recordkeeping.

In this role you will oversee ACH, accounts payable, check processing, wires, collections, escheatment, and general ledger reconciliations, while managing staff and maintaining regulatory compliance for a financial institution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting operations, including ACH, accounts payable, check processing, wires, collections, escheatment, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Prepare and oversee financial, statistical, and accounting reports and records.
• Manage, train, schedule, and evaluate accounting staff.
• Ensure compliance with applicable credit union regulations and sound accounting practices.
• Partner with auditors and examiners during annual and comprehensive audits.
• Support management in developing and implementing financial policies and operational objectives.
• Monitor department performance, resolve issues, and keep management informed of key financial and operational matters.
