Headquartered in Paducah, Kentucky and founded in 1978, Marquette is a leading provider of inland marine transportation services. Our Company operates over 130 towboats on the Mississippi River System, Gulf-Intracoastal Waterway, and near-shore coastwise market. In addition, the Company controls over 1,000 dry cargo barges. The Company has additional offices in St Rose, LA, Lockport, LA and La Porte, TX. With over 1,500 vessel and shore-based employees, Marquette is the largest provider of independent towing services within the inland waterways. We are theonlyfully integrated fleet in the industry that can do what we do.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate monthly reports and records for vessels fuel consumption, purchases, and traffic logs.
  • Communicate effectively with Logistics Managers/Dispatchers regarding fleets, vessels, and customer needs.
  • Ensure the accuracy of data entry in MCFO software.
  • Conduct research and gather data for Logistics Managers/Dispatchers as needed.
  • Document charter vessels including on-charter, off-charter, and downtime periods.
  • Liaise with fueling vendors to obtain current fuel and lube prices for cost analysis.
  • Create charts and graphs monthly and quarterly for Sales & Logistics and other departments.
  • Update databases pertaining to customers, fleets, barges, vessels.
  • Conduct data analysis, verification, and interpretation to support operational decisions.
  • Collaborate effectively with on-site and off-site teams to ensure smooth logistics operations.
  • Create and review profit and loss statements (P&Ls), accruals, taxes, and fuel charges.
  • Maintain excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
  • Flexibility to work weekends as required in rotation (approximately 2 weekends per month).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with strong computer skills.
  • Detail oriented with a keen eye for accuracy.
  • Quick learner, team player, detail-oriented, organized, with a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Previous experience in logistics or marine transportation a plus.
