Job summary

CFM Materials LP, a joint venture of GE and Safran Aircraft Engines, seeks an Accounting Team Leader to oversee daily accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic objectives. You will lead payables, close processes, and timely financial statements.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in accounting or finance, 3+ years in a fast-paced environment, strong US GAAP knowledge, CPA progress, and familiarity with French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced setting is required.
• Good understanding of US GAAP is required.
• Public accounting background preferred, does not have to be Big 4.
• CPA or progress towards CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs full cycle accounting.
• Manage the monthly closing with the finance team.
• Prepares, reviews and uploads journal entries.
• Generates and reviews financial statements.
• Ensures the accuracy of accounting information.
• Develops and maintains timely quarterly financial statements.
• Supervise daily bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and formalize monthly reconciliations.
• Review and process payment batches.
• Manage third party setups.
• Consolidation reporting with the financial analyst and CFO.
• Responsible for all tax reporting and compliance.
• Creates and communicates monthly reporting.
• Manage payable clerks and specialists.
• Cooperate with staff accountant and other departments.
• Lead projects related to the accounting department.

CFM Materials LP is a joint venture of GE and Safran Aircraft Engines and is the world's largest provider of used serviceable material for CFM56 engines. We support companies worldwide through warehouses and sales offices near DFW Airport (TX, USA), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Cardiff (Wales) and Singapore. In addition to its core operation, the company also sells surplus inventories for CFM International and provides inventory for its parent companies' MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) network around the world.

Role Description:

The Accounting Team Leader oversees daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate and efficient financial reporting and compliance. This role involves managing the account payables team, coordinating closing processes, and preparing financial statements. The individual will maintain financial integrity and support the organization’s strategic objectives.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Performs full cycle accounting including:
• Manage the monthlyclosing with the finance team
• Prepares, reviews and uploads journalentries
• Generates and reviewfinancial statements
• In charge of ensuringthe accuracy of the accounting information
• Develops and maintains timely and accuratequarterly financial statements
• Supervise daily bank reconciliations
• Prepare and formalize monthly reconciliations
• Review and processpayment batches
• Manage third parties setup
• Consolidation reporting in cooperation with the financial analyst and chief financial officer.
• Responsible for all tax reporting and compliance
• Creates and communicates monthly reporting
• Manage payable clerk(s) and specialist(s)
• Cooperates with the staff accountant and other departments
• Manage/lead projects related to the accounting department

Candidate Education and Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced setting
• Good understanding of US GAAP
• Public accounting background preferred, does not have to be Big 4
• CPA or progress towards preferred
• Understanding of French a plus

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

• Understanding of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls
• Understanding of general ledger coding
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and highly skilled in Excel.
