Job summary

Principal Asset Management offers a 2027 Accounting Internship program designed to develop accounting and analytics skills. Interns will work on financial reports, close processes, SOX control testing, variance analysis, and budgeting support, gaining hands-on experience across multiple business areas.

Multiple options (Summer, Extended, Co-op) cater to different schedules, with in-office and hybrid work arrangements and stipends of $4,000 or $7,000 depending on the track.

Qualifications

• Working towards or have a bachelor’s or graduate level degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Ability to solve problems using technology, such as Excel, query language (SQL, SAS), Power BI, etc.
• Meaningful involvement with community or school organizations and/or through work experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing internal or external financial reports and/or tax returns
• Participating in the financial statement close process
• Testing and documentation of internal controls for SOX compliance
• Variance and trend analysis
• Assistance in preparation of budgets and/or forecasts
• Assistance with projects
