Job summary

Principal Asset Management invites applications for Accounting Internships as part of the 2027 Accounting Internship program. Interns will gain exposure to financial reporting, close processes, SOX controls, and budgeting tasks at the Des Moines campus.

Three internship formats are offered: Summer, Extended, and Co-ops, with stipends of $4,000 and $7,000 respectively. The program supports hybrid work and mentorship across a Fortune 500 company.

Qualifications

• Working towards or have a bachelor’s or graduate level degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Responsibilities

• Preparing internal or external financial reports and/or tax returns.
• Participating in the financial statement close process.
• Testing and documentation of internal controls for SOX compliance.
• Variance and trend analysis.
• Assistance in preparation of budgets and/or forecasts.
• Assistance with projects.
