Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Must be able to work full-time in Miami, FL during the summer of 2027.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Preferred qualifications include strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Validate data transfer by assisting in data migration to the new agency software.
  • Record transactions in the legacy system to verify payment accuracy.
  • Assist in preparing general journal entries under supervision.
  • Support reconciliation of payables with our binding authority.
  • Prepare and review expense reclassification entries in the agency software.
  • Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process and reconcile claims and survey payables per regulations and policies.
  • Document accounting processes and journal entry procedures.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or related field

What You'll Do
  • Validate data transfer by assisting in the accurate migration of data from the legacy system to the new agency software.
  • Record transactions in the legacy system to verify payment accuracy and assist in closing old balances.
  • Assist in preparing general journal entries for various business transactions under the guidance of accounting staff.
  • Support reconciliation of payables with our binding authority to ensure accurate bordereaux payments.
  • Prepare and review expense reclassification entries in the agency software.
  • Conduct balance sheet account reconciliations by identifying, researching, and assisting in resolving discrepancies, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with financial reporting standards.
  • Process and reconcile claims and survey payables in accordance with financial regulations, insurance syndicate policies, and company guidelines.
  • Document accounting process and general journal entry procedures ensuring consistent publishing and referencing of documentation/file save location.
