Job summary

Heartland Security Insurance Group is seeking an Accounting Intern to provide accounting and administrative support across various functions. The role focuses on hands-on banking tasks, ledger maintenance, and document management within a professional office setting.

The intern will assist with bank reconciliations, checks, and records retention, while learning essential accounting processes. This position supports career development in accounting and requires enrollment in a related degree

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a degree plan pursuing a Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• Minimum of 9 hours of basic and intermediate accounting, including Intermediate Accounting I & II.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts as assigned.
• Post, print, and obtain signatures on checks as assigned.
• Maintain accurate image records of all items posted to the General Ledger.
• Scan and e-file documents as necessary.
• Verify scanned documents for completeness.
• Take items to the bank or CPA office as needed.
• Assist with any other tasks as assigned.
