Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an Accounting Intern to join the Copperworks joint venture in New Haven, IN for Summer 2027.

You will work on real projects that impact the business, gaining hands-on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls alongside SDI's accounting team. The internship offers housing support, a 401(k) with company match, employee discounts, and multiple learning opportunities through projects across SDI's operations, including asset tracking and audit

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field and maintaining a 3.0+ GPA.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting tasks.
• Contribute to internal and external audits by validating controls.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Assist with capital project accounting and asset tracking.
• Collaborate with staff and operations to troubleshoot issues and provide financial insights.
• Participate in special projects as directed by supervisors.
