Steel Dynamics, Inc. invites motivated accounting students to join its BioCarbon Solutions division in Columbus, MS for a Summer 2027 internship.

You will engage in real projects that influence the business, understanding financial systems from operational and corporate perspectives, and learn career progression from intern to supervisory roles. The program emphasizes hands-on experience, collaboration with accounting staff and operations, and exposure to internal controls, audits, and reporting

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
• Support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting tasks.
• Contribute to audits by validating compliance, inventory levels, and internal controls.
• Process and reconcile accounts payable and receivable; resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with capital projects accounting, fixed asset tracking, and expense reporting.
• Collaborate with accounting staff and operations to troubleshoot issues and provide financial insights.
• Participate in special projects as directed by supervisors.
