Great West Casualty Company is seeking an Accounting Intern in South Sioux City, NE. The role offers hands-on exposure to daily operations, AP/AR support, and month-end close tasks within a collaborative team.

You'll work with accounting professionals, gain practical experience, and develop skills in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while contributing to real projects and corporate accounting practices.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Junior or Senior standing preferred.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting operations and financial reporting activities.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial data, reports, and reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Review financial records for accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects.
• Help maintain accounting documentation and records.
• Collaborate with team members on process improvement initiatives.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
