Job summary

American Airlines Center is seeking an intern for foundational accounting experience in a dynamic event-driven environment. You will learn and support the accounting team under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, collaborating with multiple business units to understand the numbers behind events.

The internship focuses on hands-on learning in AR/AP, journal entries, and financial reporting, with exposure to depreciation and asset schedules.

Qualifications

• Intern must be a student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• GPA of 3.0+ preferred; prior related work/internship experience a plus.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Should be able to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily/weekly/monthly financial reports for cash, tickets, and food & beverage from events.
• Input end-of-month journal entries into the general ledger.
• Apply knowledge to items such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Maintain financial records for expense tracking spreadsheets and depreciation schedules.
• Support adhoc projects and audits as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand numbers and improve processes.
