Job summary

Washington Hospitality Association is seeking an Accounting Intern to support the Accounting team in routine functions within the Internal Operations Department, gaining hands-on experience in accounting processes and systems. The role reports to the Senior Accounting Manager and includes project work.

Key duties include data entry, processing transactions, assisting with billing, invoicing, deposits, and internal audits, plus helping analyze and improve department processes and SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; accounting coursework preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Excel; familiarity with financial systems a plus.
• Strong, confidential handling of information and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry using accounting software and systems.
• Process accounting transactions accurately and by deadlines.
• Assist with billing, invoicing, deposits and internal auditing.
• Complete accounting project work as needed.
• Assist in analyzing and improving department processes and SOPs.
• Attend required trainings and internship activities.
