Heartland Security Insurance Group (HSIG) is seeking an Accounting Intern for Fall 2026 in Tyler, TX. The intern will support accounting functions and administrative tasks within the finance team, gaining practical exposure to the General Ledger and bank reconciliations.

Qualified candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s program in accounting, with at least 9 hours of accounting coursework including Intermediate I and II, and proficient in Windows Office (Excel and Word).

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in accounting.
• Must have completed at least 9 hours of accounting coursework, including Intermediate I & II.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word within Windows OS.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile bank accounts as assigned.
• Post, print, obtain signatures on checks as assigned.
• Maintain accurate image records of all items posted to the General Ledger.
• Scan and e-file documents as necessary.
• Verify scanned documents for completeness.
• Take items to the bank or CPA office as needed.
• Assist or perform any other tasks assigned as needed.
