Job summary

Wholestone Farms is seeking an Accounting Intern in Fremont, NE. The intern will handle accounts payable and receivable functions, processing invoices and applying receipts accurately to support timely financial operations.

The candidate should be a current college junior or senior with a degree or major in Accounting or equivalent, ready to engage in day-to-day financial tasks and learn our policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a college junior or senior.
• Degree and major in Accounting or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Process outgoing payments in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Apply receipts and generate needed credit or debit memos.
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions including AP/AR data entry.
• Reconcile AP/AR ledgers to ensure postings are accurate.
• Verify discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and statements.
• Facilitate aging payables and receivables by contacting clients.
• Generate reports detailing AP/AR status.
• Understand expense accounts and cost centers.
• Understand compliance issues around AP processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.).
• Other duties as assigned.
