Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. is offering a paid accounting internship at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska.

The program provides dedicated job training, exposure to Workday Financials, and opportunities for real-world experience while collaborating with our accounting team. Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or Finance, with preferred completion of introductory tax and accounting coursework.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Completion of introductory tax and accounting coursework preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Aid in the preparation of month end financial statements for Werner Enterprises and subsidiaries which may include: recording journal entries for accrual of revenue and expense; reconciling balance sheet accounts; reviewing transactions within general ledger accounts.
• Compile documentation for quarterly SEC reporting and external auditor review.
• Report directly to accounting department upper management and complete various departmental tasks as needed.
