Job summary

VOA Oklahoma is seeking an Accounting Generalist to provide administrative and accounting support for the Accounting Department. You will assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting.

This office-based role requires experience with accounting software, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail. A degree in Accounting and 2+ years of experience are preferred; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Qualifications

• Experience with accounting software systems.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Experience with accounts payable, billing, and account reconciliations.
• Experience with non-profit accounting and accrual accounting strongly preferred.
• Education: Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a related field.
• Two or more years of accounting experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with entry of invoices, billing, and receipts as needed.
• Weekly processing of credit cards to ensure accuracy.
• Work with administrative and program staff to ensure all receipts are uploaded and approved.
• Track recurring expenses to ensure timely and accurate payment (leases, utilities, subscriptions, etc).
• Research discrepancies with billing, invoicing, or general ledger with the assistance of the Interim Director of Accounting and other Accounting staff.
• Train on Medicaid billing.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial, client, and employee information and data.
