Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance recruiting, staffing, or executive search preferred.
• Existing network within the Houston accounting and finance community is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develops and manages a pipeline of accounting and finance candidates from staff to CFO level.
• Builds and maintains relationships with client companies to understand hiring needs and culture.
• Sources candidates through networking, referrals, LinkedIn, job boards, and proactive outreach.
• Screens and evaluates candidates for technical accounting/finance skills and fit.
• Manages the full recruiting lifecycle from contact through offer and placement.
• Prepares candidates for interviews and provides timely feedback.
• Collaborates with clients on job descriptions, compensation benchmarking, and market insights.
• Maintains accurate candidate and client records in ATS/CRM.
• Represents the firm at local networking events and industry associations to grow presence.
• Meets or exceeds individual placement and revenue targets.

We are looking for an Accounting & Finance Recruiting Professional to join our Houston team. In this role, you will build and manage a book of business by identifying, engaging, and placing top accounting and finance talent, ranging from senior accountants to CFOs, with clients across a variety of industries. This is a relationship-driven role suited for someone who thrives on connecting people with opportunity and enjoys building long-term partnerships with both clients and candidates.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Develops and manages a pipeline of accounting and finance candidates, from seniors accountants through C-suite (CFO/Controller) level.
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with client companies to understand their hiring needs, culture, and role requirements.
• Sources candidates through networking, referrals, LinkedIn, job boards, and proactive outreach.
• Screens and evaluates candidates for technical accounting/finance skills, cultural fit, and career motivations.
• Manages the full recruiting lifecycle, from initial candidate contact through offer negotiation and placement.
• Prepares candidates for interviews and provides timely, constructive feedback throughout the process.
• Collaborates with clients on job descriptions, compensation benchmarking, and market insights.
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date candidate and client records within the applicant tracking system (ATS)/CRM.
• Represents the firm at local networking events, professional organizations, and industry associations (e.g., TXCPA, IMA, ACFE) to build market presence and expand the referral network.
• Meets or exceeds individual placement and revenue targets.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of accounting and finance roles, titles, and career paths (staff accountant through CFO).
• Excellent relationship-building, networking, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sales acumen with a demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline and close placements.
• Ability to manage multiple searches and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with polished presentation to clients and candidates.
• Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable with a metrics-driven, commission-influenced compensation structure.
• Proficiency with ATS/CRM tools, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance recruiting, staffing, or executive search strongly preferred; candidates with a background in public accounting or corporate finance and a strong interest in recruiting will also be considered.
• Existing network within the Houston accounting and finance community is a plus.
