Job summary

City Utilities of Springfield seeks an intern to assist in budgeting and financial analysis. Under the direction of the Financial Analyst, you will help prepare the Annual Operating Budget and Operating Plan, collect data, perform reconciliations, and support monthly reporting.

This internship is 20–25 hours weekly during the school year and up to 40 hours in summer, with eligibility requirements for full-time student status and a graduation window. Position is on-site in Missouri.

Qualifications

• Accounting or business-related major required.
• One year of college with accounting courses preferred.
• Experience with Excel macros and BI tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the Annual Operating Budget and Operating Plan.
• Help collect data and perform financial analyses.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations and budget reports.
• Support forecast data for budgeting processes.
• Assist in budget presentations and supplemental materials.
• Analyze monthly statements for budget deviations and report to supervisor.
• Support finance goals, processes, and standards.
