Xplora Search Group seeks a Director of Shared Services to lead a broad accounting operations organization, overseeing AP, Payroll, Billing and AR, Cash Management and Accounting Services. The role partners with Finance and Operations leaders to drive performance across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will bring a continuous-improvement mindset, develop leaders, and establish KPIs while standardizing, automating, and improving processes. This high-visibility position reports to the CFO.

A large, publicly traded company with a decentralized, multi-location operating model is seeking an experienced Director of Shared Services to lead a broad accounting operations organization. This position will oversee multiple transactional and accounting support functions, while partnering closely with Finance, Accounting, Operations, Technology, and field leadership.

The organization is looking for someone who can do more than maintain existing processes. The ideal candidate will bring a continuous-improvement mindset, establish meaningful performance metrics, develop leaders, and identify opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve how the organization operates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a broad finance and accounting operations organization supporting both corporate and field-based teams - this includes AP, Payroll, Billing and AR, Cash Management and Accounting Services.
• Oversee multiple functional areas across transactional accounting and financial operations.
• Manage through functional leaders and managers, providing direction, coaching, accountability, and organizational development.
• Establish clear performance expectations and KPIs to measure service levels, efficiency, accuracy, and overall team performance.
• Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, controls, and scalability.
• Lead initiatives involving process redesign, standardization, automation, and systems improvement.
• Partner with Accounting and Finance leadership to support an effective month-end close and accurate financial reporting.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations, IT, Finance, Accounting, and other business leaders to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Develop and maintain appropriate processes and internal controls across areas of responsibility.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and drive solutions through implementation rather than simply making recommendations.
• Provide leadership and structure within a complex, decentralized organization with multiple locations and stakeholders.
• Serve as a strategic partner to senior finance leadership while remaining hands-on enough to understand the underlying processes and challenges.
• Develop the next level of leadership by providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
• Promote accountability and a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.

The successful candidate does not need to have owned every function listed above. The key is demonstrated experience leading multiple operational functions and managing through other leaders.

What We're Looking For:
