Job summary

Rapid Response Monitoring is a Syracuse-based company seeking an Accounting Data Analytics Intern to assist the accounting team by building models and transforming data into actionable insights for leadership decisions. This in-office role reports to our facility on site in Syracuse NY.

The internship emphasizes data collection, cleaning, and analytics using Power BI, SQL, and Excel, with opportunities to contribute to dashboards and automation projects within a fast-paced corporate environment.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in post secondary school, preferably pursuing a degree in a data-related field.
• Experience with Power BI and creating visual dashboards.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and SQL.
• Understanding of accounting principles and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform data analysis and support process improvements.
• Build and maintain analytic solutions such as queries, reports, dashboards and models.
• Analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and evaluate automated processes and workflows; suggest improvements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies or inefficiencies.

Job Summary

As an Accounting Data Analytics Intern you will support the accounting team building models to assist in solving complex business challenges and transforming data into actionable insights to support leadership decisions

Salary Range

2250 per hour

Hours

Fall Semester Monday Friday 800am 500pm

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Process Improvement
• Assist with building and maintenance of various analytic solutions such as queries reports dashboards and models
• Dive into data to identify trends patterns and opportunities for improvement
• Assist with the development and evaluation of automated processes and workflows; suggest design and implement improvements
• Analyze financial data to identify trends anomalies or inefficiencies
• Use statistical techniques to assist with forecasting and budgeting support
• Support implementation of automation scripts or workflow improvements
• Reporting and Analysis
• Provide input toward the design and development of interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI that support accounting processes workflows and specific team needs
• Assist in visualizing key performance indicators variances and other metrics for management review

Data Collection and Cleaning

• Gather financial data from internal and external sources
• Clean and organize datasets for analysis

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in post secondary collegiate school preferably pursuing a degree in Business Analytics Data Analytics Computer Science Accounting Finance or a related field with an emphasis on data analysis
• Experience with Microsoft Power BI with knack for creating clear and compelling visualizations
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite Word Excel PowerPoint Power BI and SQL
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles
• Ability to work in a fast paced corporate environment and meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
• Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to validating data accuracy
• Successfully clear drug screen and background check to meet industry and security licensing requirements
