Rapid Response Monitoring in Syracuse, NY is seeking an Accounting Data Analytics Intern who will support the accounting team by building models and dashboards to transform data into actionable insights for leadership.

This in-office internship requires current enrollment in relevant programs, knowledge of Power BI, SQL, Excel, and a solid grasp of accounting principles, with a focus on accuracy, confidentiality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in post-secondary program pursuing a related field.
• Experience creating clear Power BI visualizations.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI and SQL.
• Fundamental understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced corporate environment and meet deadlines.
• Must clear drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Data Analysis and Process Improvement: build and maintain analytics solutions including queries, reports, dashboards, and models.
• Dive into data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and evaluate automated processes and workflows to enhance efficiency.
• Analyze financial data to detect trends and inefficiencies and support forecasting.
• Support creation of automation scripts or workflow improvements.
• Reporting and Analysis: design dashboards/reports in Power BI to support accounting processes and team needs.
• Assist in visualizing KPIs, variances and metrics for management review.
• Data Collection and Cleaning: gather financial data and prepare datasets for analysis.
