Job summary

Seminole County/Board of County Commissioners is seeking a motivated Power BI / SQL Intern to support reporting and dashboard development. You will build data models, write SQL queries, and create Power BI visuals used by business stakeholders.

You'll work with our DevOps team, receive mentorship, and gain hands-on experience with data preparation, DAX basics, and documentation. This internship is designed for students pursuing a degree in MIS, CS, or a related field and offers practical

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college/university pursuing a bachelor's or master's in MIS, CS, or related field.
• Experience with Power BI visuals and dashboard development.
• Foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
• DAX basics for KPI support.
• PL-300 certification in progress is a plus.
• Must have and maintain a valid Florida driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Data preparation and transformation for reporting datasets.
• Write SQL queries to support dashboards, KPIs, and data analysis.
• Assist with views, stored procedures, and basic ETL logic.
• Learn and apply DAX measures to support KPIs.
• Build and refine Power BI dashboards, including visuals and interactions.
• QA testing and data validation.
• Create and maintain documentation and data dictionaries.
