Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience in regulated industry.
  • GAAP knowledge, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with audits and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage core accounting functions including AP/AR, collections, general ledger, and intercompany eliminations.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support weekly cash flow forecasting, annual budgeting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Maintain financial SOPs and documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.

Job description

The Encompass Group is partnering with a rapidly growing pharmaceutical wholesale company in Englewood, Colorado, to identify an Accounting Coordinator to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning a variety of accounting functions while working within a highly regulated environment. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, audit preparation, and continuous process improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Manage core accounting functions including AP/AR, collections, general ledger, and intercompany eliminations.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
  • Support weekly cash flow forecasting, annual budgeting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial reporting.
  • Maintain financial SOPs and documentation to support audit readiness and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, including DEA, FDA, and state pharmacy board financial inspections.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, tax, and industry-specific financial regulations.
  • Partner with department leaders on budgeting, KPI reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and improve accounting processes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally within pharmaceutical, chemical, manufacturing, or another regulated industry.
  • Public accounting audit experience supporting clients within regulated industries is also highly valued.
  • Understanding of GAAP, financial controls, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience preparing for audits and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise Solutions and the ability to quickly learn new data and analysis tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a growing environment.
