Job summary

MML Hospitality is seeking an Accounting Clerk in Austin to maintain financial records and handle high-volume accounts payable. You will ensure accuracy, prepare checks, and reconcile bank and credit card statements to support smooth operations.

The role requires at least three years of bookkeeping experience, proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, and Google Suite, and a strong eye for detail. This is an in-office, five-day-a-week position with growth opportunities within the hospitality group.

Qualifications

• Accounts Payable experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and Google Suite, is mandatory.
• Knowledge of accounts payable and maintenance of general ledgers.
• GAAP and accrual accounting practices understood.
• High level of accuracy and confidentiality in financial data.
• At least three years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in hospitality.
• Located in Austin; office-based role five days a week.

What you'll do:

The Accounting Clerk will maintain accounting records. The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Ensuring financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
• Processing high-volume accounts payable.
• Preparing checks as and when necessary.
• Reconciling bank and credit card statements to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Follows a documented system of departmental accounting policies and procedures to ensure standardized controls over accounting transactions.
• Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements

Requirements

• Accounts Payable experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and Google Suite, is mandatory.
• Knowledge of accounts payable and maintenance of general ledgers.
• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
• Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial files
• Previous hospitality and restaurant bookkeeping accounting are strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accrual accounting practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and accuracy is imperative.
• Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure.
• Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively.
• A growth mindset and openness to ongoing learning, coaching, and constructive feedback
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree with accounting coursework preferred.
• At least three years of bookkeeping experience is required, preferably in the restaurant industry.
• Must be located in Austin, this role is in office 5 days a week
