Anchorage — Solid Waste Services is seeking a detail-oriented accounting clerk to support the SWS Finance department. Under supervision, you will handle the accounts payable, procurement card duties, customer payment postings, and assist with timekeeping and data entry tasks.

This role requires accurate coding, strong data entry, and reliable collaboration with the finance team. Open to public and municipal employees, with potential for remote options after probation and adherence to department

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years of accounting experience, including one year at the Accounting Clerk III level.
• Ability to assist with AP entry, timekeeping, and data posting.

Example of Duties

Under general supervision of the Accounting/finance Supervisor, the incumbent for this position will handle the SWS department accounts payable and procurement card (\"p-card\") duties, customer payment posting and assist and provide professional administrative / accounting support to the SWS Finance department. this incumbent will act as the lead person in providing accounting coding, procurement and A/P entry support within the department. This position will provide support for time keeping and customer services data entry functions.
