Job summary

Sumitomo Electric Group is seeking an Accounting Clerk in Hillsboro, Oregon. The role supports day-to-day accounting tasks including AP and tax reporting, reconciliations, and financial record maintenance.

Coordination with vendors, internal departments, and auditors is required to ensure accuracy and compliance. The candidate will work closely with inventory teams, adhere to PPE requirements, and participate in process improvements.

Qualifications

• 2 years accounting clerical experience or Associate’s degree.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse workforce.

Responsibilities

• Process AP invoices.
• Responsible for sales tax reporting and rate updating.
• File State and Government Reports.
• Coordinate with inventory to balance purchasing and inventory.
• Support annual audit with auditors by providing required information.
• Research taxability of transactions by state.
• Maintain fixed asset program including property tax.
• Perform account reconciliations for cash and other accounts.
• Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Perform other general accounting and administrative duties.
• Collaborate with other departments nationwide.
• Follow company PPE rules and attendance expectations.
• Suggest improvements to increase yields or reduce operating costs.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with all departments.
