Description

The Accounting Clerk – A/R position requires an individual who demonstrates attention to detail, great communication skills, and strong experience with full cycle accounts receivable. Responsibilities include assisting the Accounts Receivable Supervisor in processing A/R billing and collections, monitoring account aging, collecting on delinquent accounts, and providing excellent customer service and follow-up. The role also involves researching and resolving payment inquiries and other Accounting department procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Audit chits from Town and Beach Club, process reciprocal billings, and handle Member account adjustments and credits. Stamp and deliver mail daily to the front desk.
  2. Manage club-specific accounting requests and statement processing as needed.
  3. Answer member calls and emails promptly, interacting courteously and professionally with members, staff, and community members.
  4. Collect and audit daily POS sales chits for Town & Beach Food & Beverage and Town & Beach Athletics.
  5. Distribute items sent by the Beach Club via pony.
  6. Order and maintain office supplies.
  7. Cross-train with General Cashier and AP positions if required.
  8. Perform departmental tasks and special projects as assigned.
  9. Resolve member and staff issues diplomatically and swiftly.
  10. Apply logical thinking to solve complex and varied tasks.
  11. Interact effectively with members, management, co-workers, and guests, including handling guest complaints.
  12. Follow written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
  13. Adapt to changing tasks without loss of efficiency or composure; participate in miscellaneous projects.
  14. Stamp and deliver member statements to the post office at month-end using a company vehicle.
Requirements
  1. At least 2 years of accounts receivable and customer service experience.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or relevant work experience.
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and accounting software.
  4. 10-key by touch capability.
  5. Knowledge of gratuity allocation, commission formulas, and club computer systems, including touchscreen POS systems.
  6. Ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently.
  7. Calm communication skills for dealing with irate members and staff in stressful situations.
  8. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  9. Valid driver’s license and compliance with insurer’s driver standards.
  10. Ability to apply accounting and club policies operationally.
  11. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  12. Ability to access, input, analyze, and retrieve data from computer systems.
  13. Maintain excellent staff relations and confidentiality.
  14. Focus and maintain performance despite interruptions.
  15. Timely completion of assignments.
  16. Professional presentation.
