Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting, AP/AR, or related finance support experience.
• Experience in distribution, logistics, wholesale, or high-transaction environments preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and month-end close processes.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable: invoice entry, coding, three-way matching, vendor payments.
• Prepare customer invoices, apply cash receipts, and follow up on past-due balances (AR).
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts; resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end close: journal entries, reconciliations, accruals.
• Maintain records in ERP/accounting system.
• Review employee expense reports and corporate card transactions.
• Respond to inquiries on billing and payment status.
• Assist with audit prep, sales tax support, and ad hoc projects.

A growing distribution and logistics company is seeking a detail‑oriented Accounting Specialist to support its finance team. This role handles day‑to‑day accounting operations in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment and is a strong fit for someone who enjoys keeping transactions accurate, organized, and moving.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, three‑way matching, and vendor payment runs
• Support accounts receivable by preparing customer invoices, applying cash receipts, and following up on past‑due balances
• Reconcile vendor and customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
• Assist with month‑end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and accrual support
• Maintain accurate records in the company’s ERP/accounting system
• Review and process employee expense reports and corporate card transactions
• Respond to vendor, customer, and internal inquiries on billing and payment status
• Assist with audit preparation, sales tax support, and other ad hoc projects as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, AP/AR, or a related finance support role
• Experience in distribution, logistics, wholesale, or another high‑transaction environment preferred
• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and the month‑end close process
• Proficiency with an ERP or accounting system (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
• Intermediate Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, reconciliations)
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow‑through
• Comfortable managing competing deadlines in a fast‑moving environment
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience considered
