Job summary

Diakon is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support statewide permanency network contract accounting activities, vendor and contractor payments, and accurate general ledger posting.

Ideal candidates will have at least two years in general accounting, an associate degree in accounting or finance, and the ability to handle journal entries and expense reimbursements with precision and integrity.

Qualifications

• Two years of general accounting experience or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of general ledger and journal entries.
• Experience processing vendor invoices and employee reimbursements.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, contractor payments, and employee expense reimbursements.
• Assist with creating and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
• Communicate with vendors, contractors, and internal staff to resolve issues and reconcile accounts.
• Support month-end close activities and financial reporting.

General Responsibilities:

• Responsible for accounting activities of the statewide permanency network contract assisting with facilitating vendor, contractors and expense payment and general ledger process.
• Assists with payment of all vendors, contractors, and employee expense reimbursement, verifying, coding, and entering invoices to general ledger.
• Assists with correspondence and resolution of issues with vendors, contractors, and employee expense reimbursement.
• Assists with creating and entering journal entries into the general ledger.

Education/Training:

High school degree or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant certification is a plus.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years of experience in general accounting functions normally required.

ADA:

Ability to bend, stoop, sit, reach and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
