Job summary

Stew Hansen Dodge City, a Ken Garff Automotive Dealership, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our centralized accounting team in Clive, IA. You will handle the accounting of vehicle sales and purchases, reconcile general ledger schedules, post transactions, and support management with periodic reports.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of dealership accounting experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of dealership software and Excel spreadsheets is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and basic computer/calculator use.
• High school diploma or the equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Account for the accounting of vehicle sales and purchases.
• General ledger reconciliation and schedules.
• Post computer postings and other misc. accounting duties.
• Send daily report of total deals outstanding to management.
• Review incentives to ensure compliance with factory program standards.
• Maintain organized filing system for all deals and paperwork.
• Provide backup to other staff as necessary.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Responsible for the accounting of vehicle sales and purchases
• General ledger reconciling of schedules
• Computer postings and other misc. accounting duties
• Send daily report of total deals outstanding to management
• Daily review of relevant accounting schedulesReview incentives to ensure compliance with factory program standards
• Review and maintain incentive schedule
• Call factory hotline as necessary to process claims
• Submit weekly report on schedules with notes on outstanding items
• Maintain organized filing system for all deals and paperwork
• Provide backup to other staff as necessary and as assigned

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 1 to 2 years of Dealerships accounting experience is a plus
• Knowledge of Dealership software and Excel spreadsheets is a plus
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products, and the general use of a computer and calculator
• High school diploma or the equivalent
