Job summary

Ken Garff Automotive Group’s Stew Hansen Dodge City operation seeks an Accounting Clerk to manage vehicle sales and purchases, reconcile schedules, and perform general ledger duties from our Centralized Accounting office in Clive, IA.

The role offers a Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm schedule with competitive pay, paid training, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401k with company match and life insurance.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of dealership accounting experience.
• Knowledge of dealership software and Excel.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and calculator use.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Account for vehicle sales and purchases.
• Reconciling general ledger schedules.
• Post computer entries and other accounting duties.
• Submit daily deals outstanding reports to management.
• Daily review of relevant accounting schedules.
• Review incentives for factory program compliance.
• Review and maintain incentive schedules.
• Call factory hotline as necessary to process claims.
• Submit weekly reports on schedules with notes.
• Maintain organized filing system for all deals and paperwork.
• Provide backup to other staff as assigned.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Responsible for the accounting of vehicle sales and purchases
• General ledger reconciling of schedules
• Computer postings and other misc. accounting duties
• Send daily report of total deals outstanding to management
• Daily review of relevant accounting schedules
• Review incentives to ensure compliance with factory program standards
• Review and maintain incentive schedule
• Call factory hotline as necessary to process claims
• Submit weekly report on schedules with notes on outstanding items
• Maintain organized filing system for all deals and paperwork
• Provide backup to other staff as necessary and as assigned

Here’s what you’ll need:

• 1 to 2 years of Dealerships accounting experience is a plus
• Knowledge of Dealership software and Excel spreadsheets is a plus
• Must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions and information
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software products, and the general use of a computer and calculator
• High school diploma or the equivalent
