Job summary

Lendingpoint, LLC seeks an Intern in Accounting (Cash Operations) to support the Accounting team while gaining hands-on experience in a professional setting. You will assist with cash postings, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities, while contributing to process improvements.

This in-office role offers exposure to internal controls, cross-functional processes, and collaboration with Treasury, Loan Servicing, and Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong academic performance and interest in accounting, finance, or related business operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard office software; ERP/GL systems experience (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Oracle) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily cash receipts and disbursements across bank accounts and trust/collection accounts.
• Monitor bank activity and investigate unidentified or unapplied cash items.
• Support coordination with Treasury, Loan Servicing, and Operations related to cash movements and account sweeps.
• Prepare recurring and non-recurring monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation for cash postings and journal entries.
• Support day-to-day bookkeeping and month-end/year-end close processes within deadlines.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations for cash and related accounts.
• Research reconciling items and escalate unresolved issues to supervisor.
• Document reconciliation processes and internal controls; assist with process improvements.
• Participate in ad hoc projects and system implementations.
