Working closely with the Finance Director, you will help manage accounting functions, grant billing, financial reporting, and budget analysis while turning financial information into clear, useful insights for leadership and staff. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring that resources are accurately tracked, funding requirements are met, and the financial operations that support our mission run smoothly.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
  • Keep financial operations accurate and organized: Maintain accounting records, process financial transactions, reconcile accounts, review general ledger activity, and investigate discrepancies to help ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information
  • Support responsible financial management: Assist with month-end and year-end closings, prepare financial reports and budget-to-actual comparisons, analyze trends and variances, and identify items that may require additional attention

  • Turn financial data into meaningful insights: Use Excel and other reporting tools to organize and analyze financial information, develop dashboards and visual summaries, and clearly communicate financial results and budget trends to leadership and staff who may not have a financial background
  • Improve processes through technology: Apply knowledge of AI tools and automation to support financial analysis, reporting, and routine accounting workflows while verifying accuracy and protecting confidential information
  • Strengthen financial accountability and compliance: Follow organizational fiscal policies, internal controls, and grant requirements while maintaining accurate vendor records, supporting audits, and ensuring financial documentation is complete and reliable
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and financial reports, demonstrated through education, training, or practical experience. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis
  • Ability to use Excel and other business intelligence or reporting tools to analyze financial data, develop reports and visual dashboards, and communicate findings clearly to individuals without a financial background
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and their practical application in a business setting
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with MIP accounting software
  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, grant billing, or nonprofit financial operations; familiarity with fund accounting is a plus
  • Experience preparing, analyzing, and presenting financial reports, budget comparisons, and visual dashboards for nonprofit programs or grant-funded activities
