AHC (Affordable Homes & Communities) is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Arlington, VA team. You will primarily manage accounts payable, support general accounting, and assist with ledger reconciliations in a mission-driven non-profit setting.

The ideal candidate has GAAP knowledge, strong attention to detail, and experience with accounting software such as MIP, Avid, or Concur. You will collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment and help maintain accurate financial

Qualifications

• Proven experience in accounts payable or a general accounting support role.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and basic general ledger accounting principles.
• Familiarity with accounting software (MIP, Avid, Concur) and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process and manage invoices with accurate coding and timely payments.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain detailed records.
• Assist in journal entries and month-end close procedures.
• Support treasury tasks including cash monitoring and transfers.
• Prepare for audits and assist with tax reporting as needed.
